Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Vibe Vote (“Vibe Vote,” “we,” “us”) collects, why we collect it, the legal bases we rely on, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It applies to our website, our editor extensions and command-line integrations, and our backend services (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Vibe Vote is the controller of the personal information described here. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at vibevote.ai@gmail.com. Our postal address is 9226 Clayberry St, Houston, TX 77080 (see Contact below).
2. Information we collect
- Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile (name and account identifier) using the minimum scope (openid, email, profile). We do not receive your Google password and we do not access your Google data beyond this.
- Anonymous play. If you do not sign in, we generate a random device identifier so your streak and stats persist on your device. It is not linked to your real identity unless you later sign in to claim it.
- Gameplay data. Your votes, predictions, scores, streaks, level, and the time you take to respond to a question. The response time is measured to keep scoring fair and to detect automated voting.
- Communications and consent. Your email if you join a waitlist or opt in to be notified about future features, together with a timestamped record of that consent.
- Technical and security data. Information needed to operate and protect the Service, such as IP address, request metadata, and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and diagnostics.
- Local storage and cookies. See our Cookie Policy. We use only strictly necessary storage by default.
We do not intentionally collect special categories of data, and the Service is not designed to capture the content your AI agent generates. Our editor and command-line integrations are observe-only: they never read, proxy, store, or transmit your model traffic, prompts, source code, API keys, tokens, or subscription credentials.
3. How we use information and our legal bases
We use personal information to:
- provide the Service: serve questions, record votes and predictions, compute live splits, and maintain scores, streaks, and profiles (legal basis: performance of a contract);
- keep the Service fair and secure: anti-bot response-time checks, deduplication, rate limiting, fraud prevention, and abuse handling (legal basis: legitimate interests, and where applicable legal obligation);
- communicate with you about features you asked to hear about, such as paid voting (legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time);
- produce aggregate, anonymized developer-sentiment statistics (legal basis: legitimate interests; the output does not identify you);
- comply with law and enforce our terms (legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests).
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights and freedoms. You may object as described below.
4. Aggregate and anonymized data
A core part of Vibe Vote is aggregate vibe-coder sentiment, for example “68% chose Jordan over LeBron.” We may publish, license, or sell such aggregate statistics. This data is genuinely aggregated and anonymized so that it does not identify you and cannot reasonably be used to re-identify you. We do not sell data that identifies you.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers (processors) that host and operate the Service under contract, such as our cloud and database hosting, authentication, email delivery, and, in the future, payment processing. They may process data only on our instructions.
- Legal and safety disclosures when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
6. International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other regulated regions, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent recognized mechanism.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize it. Account and gameplay data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, security, and anti-fraud needs. Waitlist and consent records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, plus a short period to evidence consent. Aggregate, anonymized statistics may be kept indefinitely because they no longer identify you.
8. How we protect information
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, least-privilege database access with row-level security, signed and expiring session tokens, secret storage for credentials, rate limiting, and server-side anti-automation. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit the impact of any incident.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise any right, contact vibevote.ai@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by California law. You may still submit a request, and you may use an authorized agent.
EEA and UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR). The legal bases for our processing are set out in Section 3. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
10. Children
The Service is intended for developers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age required in their jurisdiction (at least 13, and 16 where required). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Google API Limited Use
Vibe Vote's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google account data only to authenticate you and to provide the features you request, and we do not transfer or use it for advertising.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
